Top 5 Red Magic 2013 M13 Cards Review

Just like the previous review, it will be in a spoiled top 5 Red cards countdown format, with each section having an image, a brief summary/description, and my verdict on what functions I think it has.
1. Mindclaw Shaman
Mindclaw Shaman lets you steal the best spell in an opponent’s hand and then cast it for free. It effectively functions as discard as well.
Mindclaw Shaman
Mindclaw Shaman
Cost 4R
Type Creature – Vampire Shaman
P/T 2/2
Rarity Uncommon
Rules Text
When Mindclaw Shaman enters the battlefield, target opponent reveals his or her hand. You may cast an instant or sorcery card from it without paying its mana cost.
2. Thundermaw Hellkite
Thundermaw Hellkite won’t tap all of your opponent’s creatures – just the ones with flying. Its ability ensures that there will be no turbulence on the flight toward the opposing life total.
Whenever you play this creature there is going to be a very solid chance that you are going to be looking at a ton of dead spirits and a couple dead BOPs right before bashing your opponent for five. OR your opponent isn’t going to have any flyers and they are simply just going to take five.

Haste
When Thundermaw Hellkite enters the battlefield, it deals 1 damage to each creature with flying your opponents control. Tap those creatures.
3. Worldfire
Although Worldfire has a large casting cost of nine mana, in the right deck you’ll never actually pay that much to play it. Worldfire feels like what Obliterate used to.

Exile all permanents. Exile all cards from all hands and graveyards. Each player’s life total becomes 1.
4. Magmaquake
You know what the worst part of earthquake was, it could kill you just as well as clear the board. The best think is that this is an instant which means you can use it when your opponent has a planeswalker out and you do not.
Magmaquake
Magmaquake
Cost XRR
Type Instant
P/T -
Rarity Rare
Rules Text
Magmaquake deals X damage to each creature without flying and to each planeswalker.
5. Krenko, Mob Boss
Krenko can easily create a massive board presence by his lonesome, and if other Goblin cards are already on the table then a win is imminent. Krenko comes down significantly earlier and brings tools to create an absolutely vicious assault force at any given moment.
Krenko, Mob Boss

Top 5 Blue Magic 2013 M13 Cards Review

Magic 2013 M13 has been released for a long time. Let’s have a review on the best cards in this core set. Here we are a list of the top 5 blue M13 cards on my eyes. As  a whole, Blue gets some interesting tricks to add to its arsenal for a variety of strategies ranging from merfolk aggro, some weird mill-beatdown hybrid that is perfect for multiplayer and a terrifying combo piece.

1. Talrand, Sky Summoner
Talrand, Sky Summoner makes a splash in Magic 2013. It can createa an army of 2/2 flying drake tokens at instant speed. Talrand’s uncommon affiliated card, Talrand’s Invocation, is probably going to be a first pick as well, placing 2 2/2 Drakes on the table for just 4 mana. He will transform your slow blue control builds into fast acting aggro builds without ever sacrificing the control aspects of the deck. Pair him up with red or black options to take out opposing threats and you’ll be riding an army of drakes to victory.

Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, put a 2/2 blue Drake creature token with flying onto the battlefield.
2. Master of Pearl Trident
Master of Pearl Trident is a functional reprint that allows Merfolk to become even more ridiculous than it already is.The islandwalk is incredibly relevant in Legacy where most decks run either Islands or cards that serve as Islands (Underground Sea, Tundra, Volcanic Island, Hallowed Fountain, etc). Master of the Pearl Trident might not have a giant impact on Standard but every other format just got Lord of Atlantis 5-8.

3. Omniscience
Being able to suddenly cast any non-land card for free is absolutely ridiculous.‘Your spells are free’ is too magnificent of an ability to get ignored regardless of how expensive it is. This card paired with Show and Tell, Eldrazi and other big reanimation targets allow players to cheat these cards into play and you won’t need to worry casting all of the cards you’ll draw.

You may cast nonland cards from your hand without paying their mana costs.
4. Jace’s Phantasm
Jace’s Phantasm is a powerful new uncommon blue creature from Magic 2013 Core Set that costs only one blue mana. There is nothing worth to be marvel that one blue for a 1/1 flyer, but this is not an ordinary flying men which can become a large 5/5 threat later in your game. The real power in Jace’s Phantasm lies in the fact that it can easily be played in late game leaving plenty of mana open to react to your opponent by casting creatures with flash, removal, card draw, and counters.

5. Courtly Provocateur
A purely political card for multiplayer, Courtly Provocateur completely throws a lot of attacking and blocking out the window. She’s alarmingly fragile, but if you can keep her out of combat you’ll be puppet mastering the whole game.

Top 5 Green Magic 2013 Cards Review

1. Thragtusk

This green creature from Magic 2013 will make a huge impact on Standard. It provides a beastly effect in the 'Magic 2013 Core Set'. The fact that Thragtusk triggers whenever leaving the battlefield – not just dying, but provides a real beastly "enters the battlefield" and "leaves the battlefield" effect. The life gain is just gravy! This is just an amazing creature card all around.

 Thragtusk
Cost 4G
Type Creature - Beast
P/T 5/3
Rarity Rare
Rules Text
When Thragtusk enters the battlefield, you gain 5 life. When Thragtusk leaves the battlefield, put a 3/3 green Beast creature token onto the battlefield.
2. Yeva, Nature’s Herald

Yeva, Nature’s Herald is part of the Magic 2013 legendary creature cycle that is poised to create some truly insane situations in a variety of formats. She’s commands, she’s got flash and she gives all your creatures flash too! She’s even a 4/4 for 4 mana! There are plenty of ways to get creative and build around this legendary elf.

 Yeva, Nature's Herald
Cost 2GG
Type Legendary Creature - Elf Shaman
P/T 4/4
Rarity Rare
Rules Text
Flash You may cast green creature cards as though they had flash.
3. Elderscale Wurm

Elderscale Wurm is a curious creature, who's only effective when your life total is seven or more. A 7/7 trampler for seven is a fine deal, as long as he’s on the board, you can never take damage that will bring you below 7 life. When he enters the battlefield, if your life total is less than 7, Elderscale Wurm restores you back to 7 life.

Cost 4GGG
Type Creature - Wurm

Rules Text
Trample When Elderscale Wurm enters the battlefield, if your life total is less than 7, your life total becomes 7. As long as you have 7 or more life, damage that would reduce your life total to less than 7 reduces it to 7 instead.
4. Mwonvuli Beast Tracker

Mwonvuli Beast Tracker might be an interesting choice in a green black "rock" style deck because it allows you to have perfect draws or find the right answer. There are a lot of powerful creatures that Mwonvuli Beast Tracker can put on top of your deck. For example, Damnia, Sage of Stone, Grave Titan, Harvester of Souls and more creatures with deathtouch, hexproof, reach, and trample that Mwonvuli Beast Tracker can find. While not a crazy, groundbreaking card, Beast Tracker is a perfect utility card.

Type Creature - Human Scout

Rarity Uncommon
Rules Text
When Mwonvuli Beast Tracker enters the battlefield, search your library for a creature card with deathtouch, hexproof, reach or trample and reveal it. Shuffle your library, then put that card on top of it.
5. Primal Huntbeast

Its a 3/3 with Hexproof and he isn't dying to removal. An excellent recipient of equipment and auras. As the creature color, Green is the most deserving of hard-to-kill creatures.

Here is my magic the gathering M13 review for the top 5 color green. Except for these top 5 Green cards, there are still many other strong green cards can be seen at this core set. Serpent's Gift is similarly terrible. Necrobite doesn't really see any play outside of Limited, and it is infinitely more playable than Serpent's Gift. Quirion Dryad is great fun but nothing tops Rancor! Finally, reprints are where green really shines in Magic 2013.
